Alex C. Riley
Alex Riley is an experienced litigator whose state and federal practice has included energy and utilities law, products liability defense, asbestos and mass tort litigation, premises liability, professional negligence, insurance defense, and complex commercial disputes. He has represented municipalities and counties, energy companies, medical providers, small and large businesses, Fortune 500 corporations, and leading manufacturers of consumer and commercial products, including major automakers and suppliers.
Alex earned his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
A Springfield, Missouri native, Alex has represented clients before the Missouri Public Service Commission and has trial experience defending auto manufacturers, medical providers, and other businesses in high-stakes, multimillion-dollar personal injury, wrongful death, and negligence cases. He also has appellate court experience and has successfully defended favorable verdicts and trial court rulings numerous times in the courts of appeals. Alex has been named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Missouri beginning in 2024 for his expertise in business litigation. In addition to his litigation work, Alex advises clients on transactional and financing matters.
Alex lives in Springfield with his wife, Ellen, and their four children. In addition to his role at the firm, he has served as State Representative for Missouri’s 134th House District since January 2021. He currently serves as the House Majority Leader and has been elected to serve as the next Speaker of the House. He is an active member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and The Network – the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Organization.
